Meet the team

Andrew

Owner/Mechanic

Andrew has been cycling for well over fifty years and continues to use his bikes for commuting, family rides and long distance challenges.  For over 25 years, he commuted into and out of London by bike during the summer months and used a Brompton for getting around central London in the winter.  He and his wife have shared a tandem since the beginning of the millennium.

Having carried out as much maintenenace of his bikes as time allowed, he always recognised the skills of shop mechanics.  For this reason, he undertook professional training and qualified with a VRQ in Cycle Maintenance and Repair in 2014. This is the highest attainable qualification in professional cycle maintenance in the country.

Alex

Senior Mechanic

Alex has been a Cycle Mechanic for over fifteen years. He joined Cyclelink three years ago and, as our Senior Mechanic, brings experience working as a professional bike mechanic at some of the most reputable shops in greater London. He has an exceptional eye for detail and has a Cytech Level 3 qualification.

He has a broad depth of knowledge & experience and is a keen road cyclist.

Darren

Cycle Mechanic

Darren has spent over 10 years working in the Cycle industry. In this time he has worked as a store and workshop manager.  He is Cytech 3 qualified and when not working on bikes will be found dealing with customer enquiries. His  friendly manner and positive approach makes him a valuable part of both the worshop and storefront team.

Hilary

Cycle Mechanic

Hilary is our “Saturday Boy” of five years standing. Initially training in Aeronautical engineering and working as a motor technician, his passion for cycling has found him filling semi retirement with days working at Cyclelink. He holds a Cytech 2 qualification and is our goto man when it comes to hub gears and precision engineering tasks.

Fiona

Cycle Mechanic

Like Andrew and Hilary, Fiona has come into cycle maintenance as a second career. She has always enjoyed cycling and, after 25 years working in TV Documentary Production, decided to train as a Cycle Mechanic. She holds a Cytech 2 qualification and has a very methodical and precise approach to work. She is a brilliant recent addition to our team.
